Whats to love about Blackburn North?
Blackburn North is located 17kms east of Melbourne. It is the neighbouring suburb of Blackburn. The area is known for its wide, leafy green streets that are set on large blocks of land which are highly sort after. It is mainly a residential area with some commercial pockets and lots of parks.
One of the area’s most notable residents was English fugitive Ronnie Biggs who, in 1970 arrived in Australia while on the run from the UK authorities for his part in the Great Train Robbery of 1963. After a short time in Adelaide, he and his family settled in at 52 Hibiscus Road, Blackburn North, under the assumed name of Cook. There the family briefly lived a normal life with Biggs working for Channel 9.
Biggs then fled alone to Brazil the day before police raided his house. His subsequently ex-wife, Charmian, and the children remained as lifelong Melbourne residents.
Travel around the town is accessible by various bus routes but it is highly recommended to travel by car.
There are several early-learning centres, a primary and a secondary school within the region that are providing great education for the children that attend the centres.
Our team have completed work in this area, centred mainly around house renovations and new house installations, as the suburb is a great choice for a family home.
